Ve come to expect that in a modern sexual romance and the absence of any discussion or on screen mention was a little disconcerting 25 starsThis one was laden with issues for me First of all the hero had the WORST family and mother ever who was a self obsessed narcissist Also I get grumpy heroes but this one was the worst and I didn t think at the end hH worked at all It just seemed like the heroine was constantly pushing him to open up begging for crumbs Our heroine moved to town a couple of ears ago and runs her own art gallery The hero has been coming and buying from her and generally annoying her for An Accidental Woman years But when he takes a tumble and heroine goes to see him to be nice she finds herself finagled into fake dating him coz his mother is coming to town The book was full of holes we know the hero is divorced but we never get the full story on that though we do get the obligatory ex and her new husband run in at the end The hero just never communicated and honestly I felt the heroine deserved much better 25 Stars Zoe Watson is the town s gallery owner and Jason Evans is the town s Park Ranger Getting along is not always their strongest suit They are uite the oppositeet their secret attraction for each other couldn t be helped Zoe is friendly and out going Jason is not He is a brood with reasons to back it up with He is an unhappy divorcee and has mommy issues to say the least Unfortunately his recent accident with lighting and a cute dog kicked start a visit from his overbearing mother Attempting to get out of that mess he uses Zoe as an excuse to shoo his mom away Thier perfect fake relationship did nothing in mom repelling but mostly did good to their developing friendship It was well overdueI expected this book to be plenty sweet and fun and Ms Castle was good on that The ending was sweet indeed But I m going to be honest and tell Poppet (Jack Caffery, you that I was a bit disappointed with the hero His situation with his mother annoyed me to no end I feel like despite his strong independent carefree persona he let his mom and brother step all over him Thank goodness for Zoe who is a very strong independent lady who will not take sht from anyone Because of her Jason will finally stand up for himselfThere was also a change of pace towards the end of the book and when it picked up it went straight to insta love I feel like Jason jumped the gun on his decision at the end They barely knew each other to make such a decision It was too fast for my liking I wanted to like this book as much as I liked the first installment After meeting him from the previous books I had certain expectations unfortunately he fell a little short Kendra Leigh Castle s Harvest Cove series just keeps getting better In One of These Nights I was immersed in the lives of Zoe and Jason I had a great time there I really loved these two uniue intriguing and very likable characters They think they have nothing in common but opposites do attract They ve had an interesting relationship for the last twoears and suddenly it is evolving into than either of them imagined The attraction that has simmered hidden under the surface is soon reaching boiling point I liked what Kendra did to get them there it was an emotional and at times entertaining journey But with past issues unresolved and family dynamics can it lastI loved Zoe and Jason Zoe is strong and is making a good life for herself in Harvest Cove the place she now calls home I liked her honest uirky personality She felt like someone I could easily be friends with Jason really pulled at my heart without even trying and watching his character grow and become stronger felt great Watching Zoe and Jason come together and acknowledge their feelings was even better It is a rocky road for them though and the bumps might prove too much One of These Nights is a book that really made me feel for the characters They are ones I ll rememberThere are a host of fantastic secondary characters in One of These Nights some of them ou want to hug others not so much They all bring so much to the plot and really help with the growth of the story I liked seeing characters from previous books in this series but they are written in in such a way that One of These Nights can easily be read as a stand aloneOne of These Nights pulled me right in from start to finish The writing is smooth the plot flows fantastic and the characters are true to life I d recommend One of These Nights to any romance reader This series slowly grew on me The first book was a three star read but I felt there was potential The second book Emmas story was even better a four star read but this book was all it took for me I read it in a heartbeat The love was bursting from every page and it earned five great stars This is definitly a reread book for me Zoe an Jason were fantastic. Es most in the world help he discovers that with Zoe in his life there are highs than lows Despite their long simmering attraction neither Jason nor Zoe thinks that two people with so little in common could possibly have a future together But one of these nights they may just discover how alike they are.
CHARACTERS One of These Nights Harvest Cove #3
Nger Jason recently broke his leg and needs help getting around and doing some things When his mother says she s going to come take care of him Jason says he has a girlfriend sassy Zoe owner of the town art studio Jason doesn t want a real relationship since his ex wife broke his heart and Zoe is very antagonizingI hated Jason s mom Molly and felt like it was unrealistic for Jason to allow her to be so overbearing I say that knowing that even though I m old now I still do whatever my mom tells me to do So maybe it wasn t so unrealistic after all cries Jason and Zoe really push each other s buttons but of course ou know it isn t long before they figure out how they really feel I had a bit of trouble buying in to the authenticity of their feelings they seriously argue all the time I wonder if they hadn t been forced into the situation if they d have actually ended up together Put aside their arguing and they do have good chemistry I did like the other characters and I m looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this seriesOne of These Nights has a great small town feel and is perfect for fans of Jill Shalvis and Shannon Stacey I could totally see Jason hanging out with Jax and the guys from Lucky Harbor If The Accidental Romance you enjoy a sassy heroine and great banter I thinkou ll like this story This novel was so heartwarming Zoe Watson has moved to Harvest Cove to open an art studio featuring local artists She is a stubborn head strong woman Jason Evans a park ranger with a prickly attitude has moved back to Harvest Cove to escape his past recently divorced and feeling like he does not measure up and his over bearing mother His mother is always comparing him to his Chalk Cheese younger brother who could do no wrong Jason becomes a regular visitor buyer at Zoe s studio and has a habit of ruffling her feathers he tracks in dirt so she buys a matcarpet just for him so he will wipe the dirt on the carpet but Jason being Jason avoids the mat and still makes a mess of her studio floor They have become friendly with each other and then one day Jason is hurt on the job and needs some help getting around his home His mother gets wind of his accident and tells Jason she is on her way to take care of him Jason does not want his mother visiting nor does he want her help so he comes up with a plan that if his mother sees he has a girlfriend who is taking care of him she will return home after a day or two So he hopes to accomplish this by having Zoe be his fake girlfriend and this is when the fun begins Loved this book wish it had a bit covering Jason and Zoe life after they acknowledged their attraction for each other Loved it Great characters great banter Awful mother looking forward to the next book in this series Not as good as the second not as bad as the first An enjoyable read that was nearly ruined by Jason s familySo here s the thing it isn t the bad people inour past or even in Christmas with Grandma Elsie (The Original Elsie Dinsmore Classics your life but howou react to their machinations that has implications on our character This is important for Jason because he really should have rocked my boat A uiet nerd who stubbornly does what he thinks is right who can banter without bite when given half a chance That should be my jam Only Jason s family undermines a lot of what I might have admired Not because they re awful they really are but because Jason turns into a complete pushover in the face of their machinations I m sorry but if I knew my mother only wanted to barge into my life for her own self aggrandizement and that she d belittle me in front of my friends and lover the last thing I d do is let her stay in my home and push me around That s just weak and it made me lose respect for Jason where he should have been strongest ie his steadfast and uiet strength was not only turned on himself but on Zoe as a byproduct And I find that a total turnoffAt least Zoe was full of win I loved her straightforward approach in everything She could be subtle her handling of the meddlingly awful Molly proved that but she did what she had to do and made no bones about it I particularly liked how classily she handled the messes Jason landed her in Straight up confrontation but without acrimony or ultimatums or tantrums to which she would totally have been entitled I thought She said what she thought and let him know as forthrightly and kindly as she could It was awesome She saved this book for me by and largeSo Zoe alone kept this a steady 35 stars but Jason s family damage keeps me from rounding upA note about Steamy Middle road with a typical two explicit sex scenes I really liked how well Castle handled them actually They were exactly what they needed to be illustrating both the uirks of the characters and the state of their relationship That said I admit to being a bit disturbedperturbed by the lack of birth control Prickly albeit handsome park ranger who can’t seem to help tracking mud into her art galleryor showing up in her dreamsJason Evans swore off relationships the day his ex wife walked out the door and the local gallery owner is no exception But when an accident forces him to accept the one thing he hat.
375 stars rounded upWhen I first read the glimpse of irritating slash intriguing arguments between Zoe Watson the fiery gallery owner and Jason Evans the handsome park ranger whom Zoe secretly called Treebeard behind his back in book 1 I was already looking forward to their book I thought Zoe and Jason had that opposite attracts factor down to a T I couldn t wait to read how they finally acknowledged their attraction So when I was offered the ARC for this via The Blogger Girls blog I couldn t say YES fast enough I immediately started reading it once it was delivered to my emailWell for the most part I definitely got my wishes I mean look at the set upJason is forced into limited mobility after he broke his leg when trying to rescue a dog in the wood while avoiding trees coming down on him at the same time He is out of commission has to wear crutches and ask for help every now and then However Jason s biggest problem is coming his way his motherJason doesn t have a good relationship with his family especially his mother and his ounger brother He was always considered the less perfect one and having his mother over will smother him and drive him crazy So when Zoe comes to visit at the wrong time Jason is on the phone with his mother he ends up admitting a lie that surprises both of them Jason tells his mother that Zoe is his girlfriend in order to stop his mother from coming overIsn t that perfect Yep fake girlfriend scenario hahaI really LOVED Zoe and Jason together I loved that they finally due to the circumstances were able to learn about one another since they had to keep a united front in front of Jason s mother Zoe and Jason have been acuainted for the past two ഹിമവാന്റെ മുകള്ത്തട്ടില് Himavante Mukalthattil years and perform their mating dance but there are still a lot of things they don t know about each other Add the adorable dog Rosie that Jason adopted and I simply loved every single moment when they were togetherHowever at the same time that particular circumstance aka Jason s mother became my biggest issue with this book Molly Evans Jason s mother is very overbearing and we also have Jason dealing with his pompousounger brother later in the book and every scene with her made my blood pressure rise I could understand the need of having Molly as the antagonist character here Reading the interactions between Jason and Molly is an effective way in showing how the scars run deep in Jason We could understand why Jason became so hard headed why he built this wall around his heartMolly and to an extent his ex wife Sara does a great number on Jason as a person which as a result makes it hard for Jason to see that Zoe is not at all like his mother or his ex wife Yes Zoe is classy she likes her tea her arts and she owns a gallery However Zoe is also uite down to earth She loves Harvest Cove she chooses to stay in this small town Yes she brushes shoulder with gallery patrons but Zoe can also enjoy a simple picnic Zoe is nowhere similar to Molly or Sara and she doesn t need all the things that Jason perceived being needed or liked by the snobby people Anyway what I m trying to say is that all the scenes with Molly took the time that could be spent for Jason and Zoe And this frustrated me because Molly frustrated Jason and it became a chain like event There was nothing good when reading about Molly and her inability to see Jason for his worth So I wish there were MORE scenes of Jason and Zoe s goodness Even in the end I expected pages or an epilogue of some kind Family drama is fine but I don t like it if it takes over the spotlight from the main couple s romance Cinder Royal you know That was the biggest obstacle for this book to be one of my perfect romance reads of theear sadly Despite everything One of These Nights reaffirms for me that Kendra Leigh Castle is an author to watch out for when it comes to small town contemporary romance I am so bloody happy that we already have book 4 looming on the horizon though not until March 2016 Because that means I m not done with the Harvest Cove residents and I have something to look forward to next Myself and Other More Important Matters yearA Guest Review for The Blogger Girls The ARC is provided by the publisher for an exchange of fair and honest review No high rating is reuired for any ARC received This utterly delightful tale of small town romance woes delivers a sweet tale of sophisticated woman and nature survivalist man bumbling into love Looking forward to reading the other tiles in this Harvest Cove series 3 starsThis review is also posted on Pretty Sassy CoolI haven t read the other books in the Harvest Cove serieset so I didn t have a preconceived notion of Jason and Zoe when I got in to One of These Nights I do love fake girlfriendboyfriendfianc trope so I was excited to read this one Add to that this this is a hate to love story and I was pretty much hookedPark ra. From the author of Every Little Kiss a heartwarming novel that proves sometimes the only way to let people in is to let goMoving to Harvest Cove has been like a dream come true for Zoe Watson providing her with a job she loves and close friends she considers practically family The only problem a certain.
